Why purchase a new or used Toyota from Simon Kitchen
at Nanaimo Toyota?
"Why would I drive anything but a RAV4 and
why would I buy from anyone other than Simon? No reason that I can
think of.
- Heather R.
Of course I could not presume to know
your needs or think I know what is best for you; my
job is to explain the benefits of each product to assist you in making
an informed decision; my background working as a Journeyman Automotive Transmission
Technician; Service Manager; Owner, Automotive Repair Business; Seminar
Trainer of 4th year
Apprentices and College Instructors; Masters level Student in
Business Leadership with Under-Grad credit for Communication and Business
Management; and with employment working with automobiles for 24 plus
years, all this adds up to a thorough knowledge of Automobiles; what
works, what does not work, and the ability to explain how, and why.
In the process, I respect regardless of the outcome,
your choice and ability to determine what is best for you!
I always wanted to sell cars,
however I never wanted to be associated with the "car salesman" stigma. I
have discovered there are some very professional Automotive Sales
Reps out there working hard in a tough industry and recognize it
is one's own conduct which is most important to maintain as there
are both un-professional and professional persons in any industry.
My background as a journeyman Automotive Transmission technician,
Service manager, and business owner of an automotive repair facilities
has given me an edge in providing assistance to shoppers looking
to make an informed, educated decision; frankly purchasing a vehicle
is the second biggest purchase next to a home most persons will ever
make.
Having
worked in the Automotive Repair industry I have seen the results of
less advantageous decisions over positive, more beneficial ones; and
recognize the financial cost of not getting enough input to make the
best choices for your long term cost of ownership; I will help you
determine cost of ownership verse price of purchase; mechanical and
safety quality; having watched people of different ages and physical
condition around vehicles for many years, I will also help you determine
for yourselves how a vehicle will or won't "fit" and/or provide
long term comfort.
Pricing
structure and why I choose Nanaimo Toyota. If my sales market was restricted
to Nanaimo then I would sell X amount of vehicles; thankful with the
internet and all the automotive search sites our market can be bigger,
however we need to aggressively, competitively price our vehicles upfront
to attract these shoppers; of course when we shop ourselves we look
for best price first; it is our nature; the cars which are super under
priced we tend to recognize the re is likely something wrong; maybe
a big accident report, or high mileage, etc. We want to be priced for
mileage, year, condition, history, amongst the lowest and best in each
category. This means we also have the lowest mark-ups and the “sticker
price” is more realistic and has a higher level of integrity.
You
can have confidence our vehicles have a very extensive safety inspection
and the Service Department operates much like it's own separate business
looking for deficiencies in vehicles to generate repairs/revenue (internal
sales) for their department.
I appreciate this as I know when a vehicle is on our
lot it is fit for sale and you and I may have confidence it is fit for
your safety, road trip, and enjoyment; end result is you are satisfied
and I do not have to duck or hide when I see you downtown! :)
General Info.
I
was born in Richmond Hill Ontario and grew up in Maple Ontario which
is just a little north of Toronto and once upon a time rural community;
many may know the area were Canada’s Wonderland Amusement Park
is by Maple; well before the Park existed there was a farm where I rode
horses and went to chicken and corn roasts! I always enjoy the
outdoors and forest so…. after watching too many episodes
of the Beachcomber TV Sitcom on Saturday nights my parents moved us
to BC and we settled in the wilds of Gabriola Island!
I consider
myself a Nanaimo-ite though as I have mainly lived in Nanaimo since 1981. I
have moved off of Vancouver Island briefly over in Vancouver a couple
times and once as far as Southern California, however the lure of this
beautiful City kept calling me back; frankly I love the life style Nanaimo
has to offer; the lakes, ocean, river, forests, and mountains; and I
consider myself very fortunate to live in such a beautiful City.
I
am happily married to my wonderful wife Linda; together we have had a
blended family which has mainly grown up and flown the coupe! Four
of the five children have chosen to remain in Nanaimo, and we also have
three Grand-Children; which seems weird because I do not feel old enough
to have Gran-kids! I tell my Children “I love you all the
same; however I prefer having Grandchildren because you just send them
home when you’re done!”
Cordially,
Simon Kitchen
